Story Boarding
After we decided what our scenario would be for the preliminary task we had to start story boarding the clip. We had to sketch out each cut we wanted to film and write underneath what was happening. In order to make our story boards to a good standard we just wrote specifics, camera angles, transitions from scene to scene and timing of each cut. We made a rough copy and then a final draft to neaten up the timing and consider changes.
The pictures below show the storyboard cut by cut.
The rough draft was a practise so we could look at other ideas and change timings if we needed to.
Cuts 1 and 2 are close ups of a person's feet from front view and side view. These cuts will display the name of the clip 'Nicked' and the Director(s).
The 3rd cut is the back view of a persons feet in a close up, the camera will zoom out as the feet walk away from the camera to show a police officer approaching a door.
The 4th cut is an over the shoulder shot of the police officer reaching for the door handle, twisting it and pushing it open. Cut 5 is then the police officer walking into the room from the other side of the door, this will be a long shot. Cut 6 is a long shot of the two people sat opposite each other glaring.
The 7th cut is a close up of the criminal sat at a desk the criminal then delivers her only line 'You won't get nothin' out of me coppa', I know me rights' It will then cut to the police officer (close up) sat at the other side of the desk. She will then deliver her line 'You ain't got no rights, you're nicked'
Cut number 9 will be a reaction shot of the criminal sat at the desk (close up). This image will then fade to black and 'To be continued' will appear on screen (fade).
