I looked at four different pop ballads across females pop singers to get a view of the basic conventions seen in pop ballad music videos. I found that the videos I looked at featured minimalistic themes and lacked bright colours in, instead sticking to neutral tones and a black and white colour scheme. Similarly their outfits and setting used matched this theme and colour scheme as they all wore black, white or neutral shades of biege and lighter browns. Because of thise we plan to use a black/white colour scheme with natural locations that would help to convey the messages we're trying to convey with the video. 

We chose to use a mix of narrative and performance in our video because the majority o pop ballad videos use one of these or a mix of the two. 

Also to fit in the genre we plan to use slow camera movements and close ups of our artist to build motifs and an image for our star.
