Print Media

In today's lesson we looked at the different kinds of print media, print media is a form of media advertisement/distribution of information using non-digital

methods. This includes magazine adverts, flyers, poster and

digipaks. Below are definitions and examples of each.

Magazine Advert;

A magazine advert is an advert placed in a magazine, the magazine and produce being advertised will be directed at the same demographic. A magazine advert usually focuses heavily on visuals with a small amount of information usually a few lines, it will be directed at a specific target audience shared by the magazine, often used to advertise album releases.
As part of my A2 course I will make a magazine advert for our artist.

Digipak;

A digipak is a type of packaging for CDs, made of card instead of a traditional plastic case and folding out like a kind of miniature booklet. It's usually used for special edition CDs with extra tracks or extras included such as music videos or backstage footage of an artist. It will have a continuous style throughout it matching the artist. As part of my A2 course I will make one of these for out artist.

Examples of digipaks;

Posters;

A poster is a large printed picture used for advertisement of a product, in this case an artist usually for a tour often in the area in which the venue/next show is being played. They are usually of A3 size and only contain key information about tour dates or an album release etc, stuck in towns and cities so that a large number of people will see.

Examples of posters;

Flyers;

A small printed advert usually A5 size that is handed out in town centres, these usually contain more information than any of the above types of print media.
